A note from your January self: rescue your 2019 resolutions
Post-Christmas, we speak of little else but resolutions. We fantasise about the person we’ll become and obey our vows with unwavering determination…through January. By March, only the iron-willed are left and come June, most resolutions are out of the window.
This halfway point marks a logical time to reflect, assess and plan for the coming months, so we’re here to help you get back on track.
DITCH ALCOHOL
After emerging from Dry January bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, the absence of other teetotallers can make remaining alcohol-free a little tricky. So when you want to kick back with a bottle of something that tastes complex and grown-up, kombucha fits the bill.
GO VEGAN
So, you’ve completed Veganuary, then fallen back on the meat wagon. Now that BBQ season is here, eating vegan can seem like a daunting prospect. Luckily, meat alternative sections are growing in supermarkets and there are plenty of plant-based alternatives to typical fare. Try a black bean burger with guacamole and ripe tomatoes and we promise you’ll never look back.
PRIORITISE YOUR HEALTH
Health means something different to every one of us, from eating more vegetables to taking a mental health day when needed. Now is a good time to check-in and ask, “Am I treating my body and mind kindly?”
Two magnesium capsules a day is a great way to help improve overall wellbeing, boosting energy, aiding better sleep and soothing sore muscles post-exercise.
BE KINDER TO THE EARTH
You got a KeepCup for Christmas and you’ve been diligently bringing your tote bag to the shops, but you want to take another step in the right direction. Try ditching the single-use cutlery for a reusable set and you could save 730 knives and forks annually.
