Recipe: Haldi chai, spicy turmeric
Turmeric is going through its hero moment, and for good reason! The golden super spice chai is radiant with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant powers, great for everything from prevention of colds to healing from an injury or illness. You can get turmeric or golden milk at cafés and restaurants now, but it’s really simple to make at home with the addition of a few extra spices to elevate its power. Ginger, for example, amplifies the anti-inflammatory nature of this drink as both these spices help tackle inflammation in the body. Sip on this any time of day at any time of year.
Boil the following together for 10 minutes, then pour into a glass and serve:
- 1 mug of any milk you like
- ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- A pinch of ground black pepper (optional)
