Bloodstone: The March Birthstone of strength and courage
Amiee Carlton, is an energy and motivational coach, and founder of Liferocks.store. She attempts to bring the “out there” here, and unravel the minefield that is Crystals. She uses crystals as a modality for realignment and stimulation of the subtle bodies. Her aim is to educate us on the vibrational powers of crystals one month at a time.
This month we are going to learn about Bloodstone.
Bloodstone holds quite a reputation for being a stone of noble sacrifice.
It is said that the crystal’s telltale red spots are in fact the blood of Christ that fell from his body on the cross and onto the green earth below!
This stone’s energy speaks of birth, vitality, strength and courage. Certainly Christ’s crystal.
This crystal’s use for healing and detoxifying our organs dates back over 5000 years. It was said to be dipped in cold water and laid on the body to reduce inflammation and aid circulation as well as purifying blood, stimulating the liver and balancing the endocrine system.
Legend has it that Bloodstone was also ground to powder and mixed with honey to cure tumours and clear abscesses.
For women, this amazing stone is rumoured to alleviate PMS and stabilise hormones during menopause…Certainly a must for my medicine cabinet!
On a physical level, it is clear as to why Bloodstone is a treasured talisman for good health and long life, but it may also be because of all these amazing health benefits that this crystal was often carried by soldiers of war or travellers on the road as a guide for to how to proceed during times of struggle and adversity. Mostly worn as an amulet of protection and said to assist the wearer with courage when in need of courage or support during overwhelming life changes.
On an emotional level, Bloodstone is believed to help those with severe and sometimes mortal illness to face the reality of their situation, no matter how grave, with momentum, faith and inner strength.
STRONG COMBINATION
This crystal is a combination of quartz and red jasper, making it a great stone for someone who may feel lonely or abandoned and feel that they need support in moving forward or making big decisions.
This crystal combination makes Bloodstone a grounding stone that stimulates the root chakra. It is a crystal that will ground us fully in our body and strengthen our root source and our physical energy; revitalising the body when exhausted.
The result of such frequency alignment will be an increased vitality; Dispelling sluggishness and increasing our zest for life and our endurance during physical activity.
Bloodstone stabilises the root chakra as I said above, but with its deep green base colour, you can expect this beautiful stone to realign the root, and connect it to the heart so we will feel grounded, balanced and open to life around us.
FINDING BALANCE WITH BLOODSTONE
To work with Bloodstone and align your frequencies I suggest holding it in your left hand in a very quiet space for 5 minutes a day for two weeks. Focus on your breath and allow your mind to wonder. Don’t “stop” thoughts but try to let them float by. The brain will go into alpha or theta brainwaves which allows the unconscious to become more accessible.
After five minutes (set a timer) write whatever comes to mind for two/three minutes. Don’t overthink it. Re-read your notes after two weeks and see what went on, you will be surprised.
Do note that a lot of the work and alignment and balancing will be going on in the few minutes you are holding the stone…..
If you cant handle this, sleep with the Bloodstone under your pillow and note your dreams on waking. Again, have a read after two weeks and see what went down in your unconscious hours…….
