The ultimate food experience with Carnaby Eats
Coming to the end of a month-long celebration of all things food, spend this weekend exploring Carnaby Eats, a collection of over 60 restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs in the Carnaby Street area, all with green eating at their core. We went on a food safari to explore some of the best that Carnaby has to offer. From seafood to dumplings, every palate will be satisfied.
12.30pm: Tapas Brindisa, 46 Broadwick Street
Starting the safari at Spanish Tapas restaurant, Tapas Brindisa, tuck into a selection of small dishes made with the best in regional Spanish produce, including Jamón Croquetas (ham croquettes), Gambas al Ajillo (prawns, chilli, garlic & olive oil) and León Chorizo (chorizo sausage with piquillo pepper & rocket on toast). Perfect for a date night or larger group gatherings these delicious plates are perfect for sharing with friends.
As part of the Carnaby Eats September food campaign, Tapas Brindisa will be offering the perfect ‘aperitivo’: Vermut and Gilda for just £5.
1pm: Señor Ceviche, First Floor Kingly Court
Heading over to Señor Ceviche on the First Floor of Kingly Court dig into tender Chifa Chicharrones, slow-cooked, crispy pork belly with smoked sweet potato purée and chancaca soy. Follow up with the signature Señor Ceviche dish comprised of sea bass and octopus ceviche with ají amarillo tiger’s milk, sweet potato purée, avocado, coriander, red onion and crispy baby squid. Wash everything down with one of the strong, but delicious, Pisco Sours.
1.30pm: Wright Brothers Soho, Ground Floor Kingly Court
For lovers of seafood, Wright Brothers Soho is the place to be. Specialising in seafood, this large restaurant offers a wide range of sharing small plates, with promotions running throughout the Carnaby Eats event. We recommend the oysters, of course, followed by the shrimp and chilli croquettes.
2pm: Pastaio, 19 Ganton Street
With all pasta made by hand on-site, Pastio offers high-quality pasta for all. Our favourite dish has to be the seafood paccheri with mussels, clams, prawns, zucchini & saffron to share/fight over with a friend.
2.30pm: Ugly Dumpling, 1 Newburgh Street
Serving up traditional Asian classics as well as innovative new concoctions we recommend finishing off your dining experience over at Ugly Dumpling for some sweet dessert. Try out all three sweet treats on offer with the dessert platter, with 2 of each flavour; Nutella, Pecan Pie, and Strawberry Cheesecake. Delicious!
