#JoinIn to make Christmas less lonely
Some people enjoy a moan at Christmas, but often with little reason. Festive TV might not be to their liking, shops seem to put decorations up earlier each year, and so on.
But for some people, Christmas really can be a frankly miserable experience. And so, for anyone feeling lonely this Christmas Day, comedian Sarah Millican will once again be helping via social media.
If you find yourself on your own on 25 December, simply log into Twitter and follow #joinin. As the much-loved stand-up says: ‘It’s important to remember that Christmas Day is not always, if ever, like the adverts.
‘Some people have a rough time of it and for those who are on their own and would rather not be, we do #joinin so like-minded people can chat and hopefully make this potentially lonely day much less so.
‘It’s good for folk to know there are nice people waiting to chat to them. Just jump in.’
