The DIY organic healing honey mask for giving stressed skin a glow
Chemicals are, like, so last year...
This recipe, made from a simple blend of ingredients you’ll have in your kitchen cupboard, is an all-rounder for problem, acne-prone, and thirsty dehydrated skin.
Though natural, all have specific benefits for the skin: cinnamon is known for its antimicrobial action and for removing dead skin cells from the skin; nutmeg for its anti-inflammatory properties and for reducing the appearance of blemishes on the skin, making them helpful in the treatment of eczema and other skin maladies. Lemon, which is rich in Vitamin C, builds collagen, lightens blemishes, cleanses, and evens skin tone. Then holding the formula together is honey which disinfects the skin to treat and prevent breakouts, protects skin from oxidants and will lock in moisture to give a healthy glow.
Ingredients
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2-1 tsp cinnamon
- Honey
- A squeeze of lemon
Recipe
- Mix the four ingredients to a paste and leave on for fifteen minutes.
- Begin to remove by gently exfoliating in circular motions, avoiding the lower and upper eye areas.
- Finish with a damp cloth using tepid water to remove excess. A warm, tingly sensation is to be expected, but wash off if it causes discomfort.
