NEWSFLASH: Carnaby launches conservation-minded Blue Turtle Initiative
Carnaby has collaborated with ocean conservation organisation Project 0 to launch the Blue Turtle Initiative in a bid to become London’s most ocean-friendly destination.
Aiming to reduce Carnaby’s use of single-use plastic, the initiative encourages and supports Carnaby’s businesses as they adopt eco-conscious and sustainable practices.
Once a business commits to change its practices and creates an action plan, it is awarded with the Blue Turtle logo, showing customers the business is sustainably-minded.
All of the restaurants, bars and cafes within Carnaby’s Kingly Court have joined the initiative, pledging to reduce waste, provide tap water to all, source seafood in a sustainable manner, and work to eliminate avoidable plastic products.
Some of the restaurants now on board include: The Good Egg, Whyte and Brown, Ugly Dumpling, Leon, The Rum Kitchen, Pure, Polpo, Pizza Pilgrims, The Life Goddess, The Court, Ain’t Nothin’ but the Blues Bar, Crumbs & Doilies, The Detox Kitchen, Disrepute, Pastaio, Oka, Two Floors, The Diner, Bread Ahead, Chai by Mira, CLAW, Dirty Bones, Le Bab, Rosa’s Thai Cafe, Soho Grind, Stax Diner, Jinjuu, Señor Ceviche, Shoryu, Wright Brothers Soho, Sacred Cafe, Antidote, Tapas Brindisa, Cahoots, Darjeeling Express, Farm Girl, Jakata, Department of Coffee and The White Horse. While all of the restaurants, bars and cafés in Kingly Court have now made the Blue Turtle pledge.
