5 Easy Feng Shui hacks for Happiness & Wellbeing
Feng Shui expert Hannah Allan of @HannahAllanFengShui shares with us how Feng Shui can be used to create happiness and wellbeing in your environment.
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese Art and Science of ensuring your home is in alignment with supporting you in achieving all you want in your life. A home with ‘good’ Feng Shui feels in balance, life flows smoother, easier and brings us more peace. Many people think that Feng Shui is simply positioning furniture to allow energy flow but it goes much deeper than that: each home has its own unique energy which can work with you or against you. Here are some easy to implement Feng Shui tips to align your home for your happiness and wellbeing:
1) Declutter, declutter, declutter!
Since the Marie Kondo craze at the start of 2019, people all across the world have taken to applying the KonMari method of keeping what brings them joy, however, the purpose goes a lot deeper than this. Energetically, clutter blocks the flow of energy around your home which can leave you feeling stuck, demotivated and lacking opportunities. Clutter is determined as anything you do not need, use or love….if any of your belongings fall outside of one of those categories then perhaps it’s time to get rid and create some space in your home and therefore your life. Give it a go, I guarantee you’ll feel lighter and more relaxed afterwards.
2) Ensure your bed is in a ‘power position’
A good night’s sleep is vital to happiness and wellbeing and ensuring your bedroom is set up to encourage this is the first step. Have a solid wall behind the bed for support, avoid having your bed under a window or against a wall with a bathroom the other side and position the bed so that you can see the door but you aren’t in line with it. This will ensure the land of nod welcomes you in with open arms.
3) Clean your front door
Your front door is the entryway for all the energy to flow into your home, making your entrance inviting is going to encourage more positive energy to flow your way. Have a welcome mat outside the front door and add some flowers or plants around the area to spruce it up. After all, “Energy flows where attention goes!”
4) What brings you joy?
Feng Shui is all about ensuring you live in a home you love, that supports you in living your best life. As you enter your home, your spirits should rise. A great way to do this is to ensure you have artwork or pictures that bring joy, visible as soon as you enter your front door.
5) Bring in living plants and flowers. Living plants bring beautiful energy with them which creates a feeling of natural energy in your home. I particularly like adding a money plant (Jade plant) to the South East area of your home to attract wealth and abundance, it has beautiful rounded leaves and is super easy to look after. Conversely, avoid cacti and spikey plants as they shoot out bullet-like negative energy into your space. Also, avoid plants in the bedroom as they can cause sleep disruption.
