Workout of the Week: Paola’s BodyBarre
Opening its beautiful glass doors in July 2019, luxury boutique studio FLEX arrived in the heart of Chelsea. FLEX is changing the way we workout in the capital – with light-filled studios, FLEX is the antithesis to the dark and hectic workouts of 2019 London.
Three first floor studios provide the perfect environment for yoga, circuits, Paola’s BodyBarre, and ‘Peach for the Beach’, while the neon-lit basement Spin Studio houses state-of-the-art Keiser M3i bikes, giving riders full stats throughout their session.
If you’re a yogi, who also loves their pilates, then look no further than Paola’s BodyBarre Align and Sculpt class.
Inspired by yoga and based on traditional pilates and “Floor Barre”, this hybrid class is perfect for stretching whilst strengthening your muscles, inclusive of the deeper delicate muscles we neglect. There’s more speed, reps, load and props including weights and resistance bands, ensuring a whole lot more BURN than a traditional yoga or pilates class. Concentrates on single leg work to focus on balance and stability this class will see you strengthen, align and work you to the core.
For new and expecting mums, FLEX offers PBB BabyBarre, a specifically designed fusion of ‘floor barre’ for pre and post-natal women. During this more gentle class, your trainer will ensure that you train safely throughout every level of pregnancy and recovery.
If PBB isn’t your first choice, there are expert personal trainers on hand from 6am – 9pm for a more tailored approach to an individual’s workout, and state of the art EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) is also available, packing a personal 1hr 45minute workout session into just 20 minutes.
