Between the fast-paced stresses of everyday life and the zombie-like scrolling of news feeds, it can seem impossible to find a time to switch off and unwind. In fact, a recent “Wellness Index” from MINDBODY, a leading health and wellness app, found that downtime takes a back seat for many of us, with the nation getting fewer than nine hours of headspace per week and one in five people stating they’re “not content” with the state of their current mental health.

That’s where meditation comes in. For some, the idea of meditating may seem daunting but just a few minutes a day will help you to feel more calm, creative, relaxed and generally able to live a less stressful life.
