Founder Focus: Emerald x Tiger
Meet Jasmin Harsono, a Reiki Master, Sonic Artist and Intuitive Wellbeing Guide.
The Founder of Emerald x Tiger, Jasmin has created a lifestyle brand and concept that promotes positive awareness through a vibrant connection to the mind, body and spirit.
Fusing the synergies of modern life, conscious living and ancient values and practises, Jasmin provides 1:1 and group bespoke multi-faceted offerings focused on holistic wellbeing for the body, mind, and soul.
How does one become a Reiki Master and Sonic Artist? We caught up with Jasmin to find out how she created such a conscious brand and community.
WHAT WAS YOUR EUREKA MOMENT?
My passion for building a conscious space and brand grew after going through a self-healing journey. I had a desire to share what I had learnt with others, to support them in their lives. A few years later I created Emerald x Tiger.
WHAT WAS YOUR ELEVATOR PITCH?
Emerald x Tiger is a conscious lifestyle brand promoting positive awareness through vibrant connection to body, mind and spirit.
Our community shares a wealth of healing experience in all we do, giving you transformational tools that can be called on at any time. We offer one to one guidance, corporate and group workshops, events, retreats and products. Emerald x Tiger fuses the synergies of modern life, conscious living and ancient practices such as Reiki, Sound and Meditation helping you to tap into your true self and heal from within.
HOW DID YOU KNOW IT WAS GOING TO WORK?
After discovering that the treatments and practises had a beneficial effect on me, I created a toolkit that could support others too. I began to share these offerings and as word of mouth spread, my client base grew. I learned to trust my intuition and gained confidence that I had created a unique practice. Where possible, I ask for feedback from clients to help support the growth of my work and business.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE THINKING OF STARTING THEIR OWN BUSINESS?
Start your business because you love it, not from a place of ego, to make money or to gain followers. If it feels right deep in your heart, then explore the idea, brainstorm, research and share with some trusted friends and colleagues. Most of all start! If you are genuinely passionate about the work you do, this I believe is the foundation to begin.
It can be very lonely running a business of your own though so connect with fellow entrepreneurs; you will be able to support one another actively.
DO YOU HAVE A MENTOR?
I have worked with some incredible mentors and continue to do so as well as offering mentoring myself, it’s such a rewarding practice and deeply rooted in gratitude.
As a mentor I offer intuitive wellbeing guidance, helping others tap into their inner vision and creativity to find their authentic self in business, relationships and life. I also consult for wellbeing businesses through concepts and connections. Mentors have previously been quite an investment, but there are many new platforms such as The Coven and Enterprise Nation that offer valuable and encouraging support for entrepreneurs.
For sustainable, ethical and environmental guidance I highly recommend The Right Project founded by Roxanne Howell and Kayleigh Attwood at The Tape Agency who currently supports us with Marketing and PR.
Samsara Communications offer a superb panel discussion event called ‘How To Build Your Wellness Business’ they have had brilliant panellists who provide insight and tips from their personal journey in business. The event is affordable and great for networking too. They will soon be launching a Wellness Business Handbook.
WHAT IS THE BOOK YOU WOULD RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE READS?
‘Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead‘ by Brene Brown. It is a brilliant source of information, a staple for anyone who needs support in overcoming that constant fear of judgement.
WHAT IS THE MOST WORTHWHILE INVESTMENT YOU HAVE MADE?
Training and developing my practice is essential, I frequently go on courses and study to further my skill set.
Emerald x Tiger also provides a platform for practitioners in the wellness industry and I invest time meeting with our community of healers, guides and creatives to see how best I can be of support to them and where possible collaborate.
WHAT ONE FAILURE ARE YOU GLAD YOU EXPERIENCED?
I prefer to see ‘failure’ as an experience and appreciate the teachings learnt from that experience.
For example, I had a few issues in finding a good accountant. It is essential to find services you require through recommendation, especially if it is an area of business you are not well acquainted with. Take the time to do the research.
WHAT PIECE OF INDUSTRY ADVICE DO YOU OFTEN HEAR THAT YOU DISAGREE WITH?
‘Don’t pursue your passion as a career or business’. I think it is imperative to love what you do, that what you offer comes from your heart. That way you
will always have authenticity and integrity in all that you strive for.
