   |   Accumulate

Displacement is the title for 2018’s Accumulate exhibition of photographs by people who are affected by homelessness and living in hostels and temporary accommodation and who took part in this year’s Accumulate photography workshops. The exhibition is at The Guardian in King’s Cross and runs from 18th May until 15th June (10am – 6pm).

The Displacement exhibition celebrates the creative achievements of a group of people, living in hostels and temporary accommodation, who took part in this year’s Accumulate photography workshops.

The Accumulate creative workshops enable people to develop new skills, make friends, become part of a community and explore their creativity. Most importantly, through these experiences, the Accumulate participants’ self-confidence, wellbeing and sense of personal value increases, which helps them to become more positive and, so, make more positive decisions in their lives and for their future.

This year, Accumulate will be awarding funded scholarships to pay for three of its participants to study on the one year Access to HE Diploma course in creative and digital at Ravensbourne, a specialist Higher Education Institute for the Creative industries. This is a life-changing opportunity for those successful, but the Accumulate experience is transformative for all participants and shows how creativity and education enhances people’s lives. The Accumulate and Ravensbournescholarships have been very generously sponsored by Straight Forward Design, Brickworks London and from the Governor’s Fund at Ravensbourne.
