Chiltern Ridge Ultra Trail

A new off-road half & 50km ultra marathon running race set in the beautiful landscape of the Chiltern Hills.

THE 50KM ULTRA MARATHON

The 50km route will combine challenging undulating trails & fast runnable sections, providing a testing but accessible ultra race.

The race starts in Wendover Woods and winds its way through the rugged woodland out onto the historic Ridgeway National Trail. You follow this pathway through to its end point at Invinghoe Beacon, 18km into the route.

Ivinghoe is the furthest point east and is surrounded by the National Trust’s beautiful Ashridge Estate. Following these paths you complete the outer loop and find yourself in Tring, well over half way through.

We swap from Ridgeway to the Chiltern Way for the second loop, before re-entering Wendover Woods at 46km. Retracing your footsteps in reverse for the final 4km will dispatch you at the finish with a medal around your neck.

THE HALF MARATHON

The half marathon route will combine challenging undulating woodland trails & fast runnable sections, providing a testing but accessible race.

The race starts in Wendover Woods and winds it’s way through the rugged woodland out onto the historic Ridgeway National Trail. Following this pathway you reach Hastoe Village Hall (7.5km), our first aid station and checkpoint.

Leaving Hastoe your steer South onto the Chiltern Way, the start of a 9km section on through some beautiful countryside. A brief stop at The Old Swan pub for our second aid station will leave you in good condition for the final stretch.

After 16km you will have completed a full loop and find yourself back on the Ridgeway, re-entering Wendover Woods. Here you retrace your footsteps in reverse for the final 4km, dispatching you at the finish with a medal around your neck.
