Recipe: Easy and versatile avocado hummus
This rich vegan dip is perfect with pitas, veggies or even as a spread
You thought classic hummus was moreish? Just wait ‘til you try this dip with a twist – perfect for a mid-afternoon snack.
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 avocados
- 200g canned chickpeas
- 100ml ice-cold water
- 2 tbsp. tahini paste
- 1 lemon
- salt & pepper
TOPPINGS:
- chilli flakes
- paprika
- cumin
- olive oil
- chia seeds
- hemp seeds
- basil leaves
- lemon zest
- dried rose petals
METHOD:
Blend the drained chickpeas, tahini paste and lemon juice until completely smooth. While blending, add the ice-cold water and add salt and pepper to taste. Serve the avocado hummus in a bowl and use a spoon to make some swirls in the hummus and decorate with the toppings. Serve with warm pita bread on the side.
