Goodwood Revival
September 7, 2018 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 7:30 am, repeating until September 9, 2018
The Revival is the only historic race meeting to be staged entirely in period dress and is a return to the halcyon days of Goodwood as the spiritual home of British motor racing. The event embraces the romance and glamour of motor racing as it used to be.
It’s an unabashed celebration of flat-out wheel-to-wheel racing, around the sweeps and curves of the classic circuit, which remains unchanged since its heyday. The inaugural Revival opened on 18 September 1998, when the Earl of March drove around the circuit in the Bristol 400 in which his grandfather, the 9th Duke of Richmond, opened the track 50 years before. It’s now the world’s most celebrated historic motor racing event, with race fans coming from all over the country to soak up the unique atmosphere in period costume.
As well as enjoying the racing and period costume, you can wander down the high street of yesteryear which, working alongside a variety of major modern brands, pays homage to the classic high street.
Exploring the Goodwood Revival can be hungry work though so you’ll be pleased to know that there will be a range of options on site where you can refuel. Whether you fancy a sit down restaurant meal, a quick bite or a luxury picnic hamper, there are a variety of food and drink options including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic alternatives such as Seedlip.
