Seven Dials to Celebrate International Women’s Day with Stellar Line-Up including Feminist Activist and Author, Scarlett Curtis and a host of independent brands

Seven Dials will celebrate International Women’s Day in March, with a week-long celebration supporting the official 2019 theme of #BalanceforBetter, collaborating with influential women including feminist activist, journalist and curator of Sunday Times Bestseller ‘Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and Other Lies’, Scarlett Curtis.

The Seven Dials International Women’s Day campaign will run from Monday 4th to Sunday 10th March 2019 to address gender equality, finding work-life balance, and the day to day challenges that women face. With an abundance of award-winning and independent brands, Seven Dials is home to a varied selection of exceptional businesses, many of which are founded and run by women or a balanced duel partnership.

Scarlett Curtis, the forward-thinking feminist activist known for her Feminists Don’t Wear Pink and Other Lies’ book and podcast, will host a live podcast exclusively for Seven Dials on Sunday 10th March at The Donmar Warehouse, 41 Earlham Street. The Donmar is a 251-seat theatre in the heart of Seven Dials, and London’s home for leading artists to make world-class theatre that engages, inspires and entertains. The live podcast will follow the authentic format and style that Scarlett is renowned for with a very special guest interviewee to be announced soon. Tickets to this event are free. In addition, an exclusive hub will open for the week at 33 Monmouth Street. The hub will offer people a place where equality and body positivity is celebrated and encouraged and will offer a variety of free activities throughout the week.

Including a series of intimate in-conversations, workshops and drop-in sessions with influential business founders and leaders from Seven Dials, including: Catherine Salway and Andrea Waters Co-Founders of Redemption, London’s latest vegan restaurant, British jewellery designer Dinny Hall, and the UK’s leading female chef, Chantelle Nicholson from Tredwells all bringing their unique voices, opinions and insights on the official IWD theme, #BalanceforBetter. A free book exchange with empowering female authors will run, with recommendations from and led by a range of influential women and authors including Scarlett Curtis, with new titles added daily.

The hub will be fitted with a contactless charity donation point provided by GoodBox for people to make a donation if they wish. At the end of the campaign, the funds will be distributed to the UN Girl Up Fund.

Miller Harris: 3 day pop up with fashion designer JEMIMASARA who champions feminism, self-worth, self- acceptance, equality and confidence, displaying her latest bespoke illustrations across a range of garments in store. Miller Harris will donate 10% off all sales from the JEMIMASARA pop up to charity.

Tatty Devine: Launching a special jewellery collection with The Fawcett Society, a UK charity campaigning for gender equality and women’s rights. Tatty Devine has designed nine pieces to celebrate the momentous unveiling of Millicent Fawcett’s statue in Parliament Square. From glittering ‘Girl Power’ lightning strikes to Fabulous and Feminist thunderclouds, with £3 per piece going to The Fawcett Society.
