National Dog Day: Museum of London x IFAW launch Dog Yoga
August 26, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
For one day only, this National Dog Day, the Museum of London will be welcoming dogs for the first time. This year, the museum is celebrating creatures great and small with their experience Beasts of London – an immersive show bringing to life the history of animals in the city.
This Bank Holiday Monday, the whole family will be able to bring their dogs to enjoy Wild Life Drawing sessions, where you can explore your creative side and sketch your pup’s portrait. Why not try something new with the relaxing unique experience of doga (dog yoga) and practice your downward facing dog. You’ll also get the chance to go on a dog walk with a difference, as our hosts take you on a walk around the Roman wall and tell you ‘tails’ of the city. When you have a moment to pawse, there will be representatives from popular doggy brands such as ByBenji and MyYoko to buy some feel-good treats and there will be the chance to get some professional photographs of your dogs with Rachel Oates.
The event is supported by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), who work to protect animals and the place we call home. Recently the organisation supported the successful passage of Finn’s Law, which made injuring a police dog a criminal offence, and Lucy’s Law – which banned third party puppy sales.
The day will raise awareness around protecting our furry friends whilst also being a fun and welcoming space for both two legged and four legged members of the family.
