Designer bargain alert: between 8-11th November 2018, eco-fashion campaign #LoveNotLandfill will be championing pre-loved fashion at a unique Brick Lane pop up. The shop will feature collections of stunning second-hand clothes from charity shops, curated by some of fashion’s most style-savvy influencers. Enjoy guilt-free shopping as all profits go to the charities involved whilst you help save the planet.
This unique collaboration features The Barnardo’s Collection by Confetti Crowd; The Oxfam Collection by Paloma in Disguise; The Royal Trinity Hospice Collection by Jasmine Hemsley; The TRAID Collection by Lizzie Loves and the depop Collection with Grass Routes, BasementSix and AMSLaLaLand, with additional exclusive designs by street artist Bambi.
Each designer has chosen a collection of 300 pieces (men’s and women’s fashion and accessories) from their partner charity, which will be sold by the charities at the #LoveNotLandfill Brick Lane Pop Up.
The #LoveNotLandfill Pop Up will also feature one of #LoveNotLandfill’s clothes banks featuring Bambi’s bespoke TOMBOY design encouraging shoppers to bring along their unwanted clothes to recycle, before replenishing their wardrobes with some second-hand gems.
Second-hand does not mean second rate. The pop-up offers affordable, interesting, good quality, unique and even designer alternatives to fast fashion – pieces by Chanel, Gucci and Stella McCartney feature amongst the collections.
There will also be a series of creative workshops held at the shop, teaching mend, repair and upcycling skills to help London’s fashion fans give their clothes the love they deserve. These include Barnardo’s 90’s Up-Cycling Event with Spice Girl themed DJ and all things shiny; Oxfam Jazzing Up Jackets – pimping work jackets from office to nightclub; Royal Trinity Hospice Jewellery Mending Workshop – where you can bring along your own broken pieces to mend or choose from a collection of broken jewellery to fix and buy, and TRAID’s Darn Good Darning – where you can learn how to fix holes in knitwear and make them a feature.
