LE MÉRIDIEN TOASTS TO THE CÔTE D’AZUR WITH A MATISSE INSPIRED MASTERCLASS IN THE HEART OF LONDON

Celebrate the stunning Côte d’Azur with Le Méridien Piccadilly’s Au Soleil free art masterclass in the bustling centre of London. Guests can expect a chilled glass of Mirabeau rosé and petit plats upon arrival.
This August, Le Méridien Piccadilly Hotel will host a free art masterclass, taking inspiration from iconic painter and pioneer of the Fauvist movement, Henri Matisse. The event will take place on Le Méridien’s sun-drenched, flower-festooned Au Soleil Balcony and will give guests the opportunity to create their own canvas painting whilst enjoying a glass of Mirabeau rosé and sampling delicious Mediterranean-inspired small plates.
The evening will be hosted by London based art collective, Brush & Bubbles, and invites guests of all creative abilities to be inspired by the vivid beauty and wild colours of the Côte d’Azur, much like the works of Matisse.
French for “under the sun”, Le Méridien’s Au Soleil Balcony has transformed an urban hotspot and central-London location into a laid-back oasis, reminiscent of the French Riviera. The space invites guests to savour the good life long into summer and is inspired by the iconic beach club culture of the 1960s, with splashes of evocative yellow, white striped umbrellas, sunbeds and cushions throughout. Encouraging individuals to take a step back from their busy lives and unwind, the terrace offers guests the chance to ‘go slow’ with either a game of backgammon, a sip on a bespoke cocktail, or a leisurely meal with friends or family on the terrace’s Go Slow Table.
The Matisse masterclass is an ode to endless summers, kickstarting Le Méridien Piccadilly’s high summer programme, with the second masterclass taking place on Tuesday September 10th.
