REACH A SOCIAL HIGH

Who says running isn’t a team sport? Not us. BackPackers is the newest running club to hit the streets of London. Its aim is to help people win the race against themselves – speed is not important. In fact, its motto is: ‘our race at our pace’. The sessions are free and take place every Thursday at 6.45pm. Meet at Lululemon on Regent Street.

For those serious about undertaking the London Marathon, Adidas 26rs (runhub.sweatshop.co.uk) is a ‘community with a common goal’: well, 26.2 miles to be exact. Sessions run four times a week from London Marathon Store, Bishopsgate. There are free changing facilities and Adidas’ new Boost trainers to trial on all the runs.

SUPERFOOD

WOWPROTEIN water will keep you energised and hydrated during, as well as after, your sprint. The water has a clever little blast-cap that freshly releases whey protein, vitamins B6, C and D and BCCAs (branched chain amino acids). These reduce muscle breakdown and pain, at the point of consumption, ensuring that the protein remains fresh, effective and powerful. (Available at Tesco).

TRUE COLOURS

Exercising at lunchtime gets your endorphins flowing and helps to boost your productivity levels. This summer, round up your colleagues and do The Color Run UK (thecolorrun.co.uk) on 11 June at Wembley Park. Make your way through the five ‘color zones’ in the fun, untimed 5K event.

SUPPLEMENTS

Nuun Active Hydration tablets (£26.99) replenish you with lost electrolytes. For joint support, try Collagen MSM Plus® (£44.99) to increase bone strength. Both are available from amazon.co.uk
