Inside the first 5 star meditation studio
We hardly need to tell you that the pressures and pace of modern life and technology are fuelling a stress and anxiety epidemic. We see it in the news and in public health data on a daily basis. But what can we do about it?
We can’t stop working, we can’t stop ‘progress’, we can’t stop innovation, but we can just stop.
Just stop and be still, disconnect from the noise and reconnect with what’s real, with what’s really important. But even stopping isn’t as easy as it sounds, particularly in the busy, noisy city. We need help. We need the conditions for calm; uncluttered space, silence, simplicity, serenity to let our minds clear and our souls soothe. Have you tried meditating on the tube? Unless you are zen master it’s pretty much impossible to tune everything out.
That’s where Re:Mind Studio in Belgravia comes in. Sure, there are locations in London where people practice meditation alongside yoga and other activities, but Re:Mind is the first space created specifically and solely for meditation, deep stillness and nothing else. And it is gorgeous.
Carla von Anhalt and Yulia Kovaleva’s beautiful creation was born, like so many successful enterprises, out of necessity. Both had been practicing meditation for many years, but couldn’t find the perfect peaceful space they craved. So they created it themselves. ‘With all the distractions at work and home, sometimes you have to be in a space where the only thing you can do is meditate’, says Carla.
All in the mind
The studio follows a holistic path to wellbeing that satisfies the present-day thirst for meaning, thus encouraging personal rituals that create time and space for reconnecting with others, nature and also introspectively. Clients can choose from several different styles of mediation that are suitable for seasoned meditators, beginners and even the meditation-curious. Through meditation, you can get to know your mind, start to own your ‘stuff’ and become more authentic. The benefits of regular practice aren’t just good for you, they can be life-changing.
